Gay Robot

Gay Robot

Thanks go to Joe for finding the above video. Behold the wonder and the glory of the full pilot for the best show not yet made on television “Gay Robot”. It is… spectacular. Add some money, better actors, and BAM! TV gold. The robot they have is amazingly expressive, it must have been the majority of their budget, though it is produced by Happy Madison in association with Sony, so maybe it just needs a bit more talent at the reigns to really make it awesome.

Why Am I Posting Sports Bloopers?

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Because my cousin Jenny is the girl in #5.  This is somebody’s list of the top 50 sports bloopers of all time.  I am trying to find the full clip, but there’s a lot of great [and some scary] stuff in here to keep you entertained until I can find it.

Bloglight: Joe Tsai

Friday, May 25th, 2007

This might seem like nepotism, in that I am about to pimp a friend’s blog, but I really do find it to be a good, entertaining blog, and was not asked to do this, so I feel it is fair game. Joe Tsai, also known as “The Saviour of Found“, posts more on his Myspace blog than I used to on my Friendster blog, which is saying a lot. It is certainly more than most people post on Myspace., and none of it is whiny or emo-y! Why he doesn’t sack up and get a WordPress.com account and throw a real blog party is beyond me, but the videos he finds and posts are always worth a peek. Several have eventually ended up here on the AV Club Blog, and there are more in the wings, so go give it a look and bookmark it if you find it entertaining, he updates often. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

I found this video over on the Toonfisch Blog, I don’t know what it is for other than being awesome, so there you go. I thought it was pretty though, so I wanted to share it with y’all. Hope you enjoy this little art interlude to your day.

Planet Unicorn Yaaaayyyy!

Friday, May 25th, 2007

Check out this totally fabulous animated series, it’s brilliant. This is episode 1 and 2 of Planet Unicorn, from Channel 101‘s current slate of ‘primetime shows’; its about a planet of unicorns wished into existence by a gay boy in the future.  Rock!

How To Diss Your Dog

Dissing Your Dog

I am what you would call a “dog owner”; this is different from a “dog lover” in that i don’t make out with my dog or put clothes on him. I deeply appreciate this video, it’s one of the more enjoyable Will Farrell clips I have seen in a while, and is apparently ripped from an SNL DVD, hence the annoying credits over the top of it. But I thought it was pretty LOL-able, though not necessarily ROTFL-ish; somewhere between a LOL and a LMAO. Found via a great collection of classic SNL clips on Brohans Video Blog, which is a great place to find clips, they work hard at it.

Space-Age Automated Tailor

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

The above video is of the Intellifit’s Virtual Fitting Room. This machine measures your entire body in 10 seconds using technology developed by the government for homeland security purposes. It bounces low powered radio waves of of you to create a quick 3D model of your body, which it then uses to take over 200 measurements and use them to match your body to their available brands. The goal of this system is to allow anyone to order clothes online without any fear that it won’t fit when it arrives. The one thing that is bad is that you would have to find one of these machines to get measured, or do all 200 measurements yourself. They are working with retailers to get their machine in stores where people can find and take advantage of its powers. Via Get Elastic.

There’s No Way This Is Legal:

tv links logo

Someone whose identity shall remain off the books sent me this link: TV Links. If you click it, you will be taken to a site that contains full screen, great quality copies of many episodes from more television shows than you even knew existed. I mean a metric sh!t ton of videos. Full episodes. They seem to be linking to videos all over the web, but they are doing something to make them play in their own flash player, so its all a little suspect. But its a UK address, and is probably hosted in Sweden or something, so we’ll see how this one pans out. So far, I will say that the user experience on here is better than Joost [equal if not better quality vids, faster streaming, more choice, better programming]. You could lose yourself for days in there.  I’m watching Balls of Steel, so there!

Amazing Folding Chair/Couch

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Alphamonkey brought this to my attention months and months ago, but it took me until now to post it because, well honestly because WordPress has a very serious problem that prevents you from embedding objects in posts without switching out of the rich wysiwyg editor. But that is my annoying pet peeve, not your problem. The above video is of an art project that is just fun to watch in action. Basically its a giant accordion that you can sit on and reconfigure into different shapes. Go art school! Via Glumbert.

Are We There Yet? [The Moon]

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Alphamonkey over on Transbuddha posted this video from NASA a few weeks ago, and I’ve been meaning to get around to forwarding it along to you fine folks, in case you are not a regular reader of his [you should be]. This is a promotional animation for the new moon program that Bush announced as a national goal a while back; the animation itself is nowhere near great, but that’s not why I am excited about it. I have long held the belief that exploration of space is pretty much the only worthwhile thing we humans do, so guess where I stand on this one. God I hope we get some more focus on space exploration, and less on blowing each other up.
