Add These To The Lexicon For Me

Every so often I invent a word, mostly to amuse myself, but often for lack of a better word. I have heard a lot of words invented during improv scenes, I think word play is something that just amuses and fascinates the improvisors’ mind. The English language is already such a mess, so why not add to the party? I present to you two new words that should be immediately and irrevocably entered into the English lexicon. If you have your own words to add to the pile go right ahead.

  1. Stragedy- a catastrophic failure due to flawed planning. Use: “The Iraq war is a complete and utter stragedy”. This word is best spoken aloud, as it just looks like a typo when written.
  2. Multimotion- an emotional state comprised of several similar or seemingly incongruous simple emotions. Example: seeing someone you hate get kicked in the testicles, fall down, and begin to vomit blood brings about a multimotion combining joy, empathy, and nausea.

There you go. There will be more, but those are the first ones. Begin using them immediately.
