This year we started this blog, and I wanted to look back quickly on some of my favorite posts so far. If you are new to the blog here, welcome; this is what you can expect to find here.

This year there were several videos around the web that tickled my fancy one way or another: the Trainsurfer was pretty amazing and oddly touching, these guys skating on a freeway was jaw dropping, and I really laughed pretty hard at this video about blogging.

In 2006 the AV Club launched a bunch of original videos, we got banned from Yahoo Video, and we launched our first netcast (podcast).

We also blogged about politics quite a lot, two of the more popular posts were my diatribe against impeaching Bush, and this collection of stories that follow America’s descent into a police state.

There were also a lot of miscelaneous posts that I would like to quickly revisit: fish faces, an image of the shuttle launching as seen from space, a 160 megapixel camera, a floating hot tub, Fridgets! I pissed off some guys who really like [probably work for] Studio 60, and I had a lively conversation about the future of media distribution with ALphamonkey of Transbuddha.com.

All in all this was a good year here at the AV Club, stay tuned for some truly great things in 2007.
