What red-blooded boy hasn’t dreamed of piloting a mech? None. They all want to be in a giant fighting robot at some point of their lives. In fact I am a proud member of the robots side of the “Giant Fighting Robots vs. Mythical Swords – which would you want?” debate that has been raging amongst my friends for years. Well, sometimes those boys grow up, and they get enough money to build their own giant robot. This is the latest, and it seems, most advanced attempt to date. A massive Gundam that may or may not move (there is no video, and blog reports seem conflicted as to whether or not it can actually walk). Looking at the pics, I don’t think it looks like it can even support its own weight. But who cares, its a Gundam you can sit in! Give me a Beta Fighter from Robotech any day of the week. The future is going to be so sweet.

This one has been around for ages. From what I’ve heard it does not actually walk and is more or less a big model/puppet.
My friends over at http://www.mechaps.com/ on the other hand, are actually building a fully functional deathstar… I mean mech. Their mech is powered by 2 big-block engines (one for each leg) and every aspect of it will be pilot/computer controlled.

I was way more impressed with this robot toy from “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” than I thought I would be, check it out.
