Should We Buy This (Pt.3)

jennifer convertibles affordable couches

Today’s item is less a request for input and more one for validation that this is indeed the best possible option. The Sweet is already starting to shape up, with the bed and cellphone charging station sorted out, it is time for us to move on to the seating. We have room for a couch or two, and we want to have the most comfortable seating possible in the most reasonable amount of space. Couches range in price from “dirty, used, and free” to “new and ridiculously expensive”, so here is what we are thinking so far. We think we want an L shaped couch to go along the back of the room and down the side. We both love big soft comfy things, so we are leaning towards a microfiber covered couch.

On a recommendation from my mother, we went to Jennifer Convertibles last weekend and found the above awesomeness. At $799 with a lifetime guarantee against any stains (if they can’t get it out, they will replace the fabric for free, forever), this couch is pretty much a lock. But I reserve room for the possibility that there is a better deal out there, so:

What have you guys seen out there? Where is the best place in LA to get an affordable couch? What do you think we should do?

That price sounds like a great deal. My living room set cost me close to $4000

The couch set in that photo looks great. Keep in mind that you are also the owner of a dog, so look into how tear resistant that material is. (You know it’s only a matter of time before Rhodes is up on that sofa with you!)

good call on the tear resistance. the material feels very sturdy, but that is an excellent question to ask them. also, your living room is very comfy- money well spent.

I think microfiber is way too delicate for Rhodes’ claws. It’ll be ripped up within a year. It’s a great deal, but you’re better off going with something either more expensive and durable (say, a real suede couch), or something used and a bit more beaten up.

OK I just found the most awesome furniture website:

    http://www.viesso.com

You can customize the layout, color, fabric, etc. And the prices seem not too shabby.

re: rhodes, i don’t think he will be allowed on whatever we get- currently he is only allowed on one couch, and it is already bad, and he is good about not trying for the others.

re:viesso, cool style, awesome that you can customize them, prices are pretty far above most places. for custom couches i also saw a site that currently appears to be down, a store in la that offers similar options and prices. i will link it when it is not down.
