This Sky Won’t Fall
September 25th, 2006 by Andy|
I work in a dark cave with almost nothing but the pale blue light of CRTs to keep my eyes slowly degenerating, so looking at these light fixtures from the Sky Factory makes me sad in a longing kind of way. Basically they are translites (large transparencies with artwork printed on them, the backdrops you see in movies outside windows sometimes) that go over bright fluorescent light banks to give the ‘illusion’ that there is a skylight and that there is no smog. Bitter? Yes. I would like to see these in person and judge them silently before passing on any form of endorsement, but they look interesting enough to warrant a peek. |

Would be nice to make something like this out of LCD monitors. There was a guy that made a couple windows using a series of LCDs, looked really nice. (sadly I don’t have a link for it at the moment)
