‘Till touch down brings me round again

The fine folks over at the Tripoli San Diego Rocket Club (and “Polecat Aerospace“) have completed work on their X-Wing fighter rocket (yes rocket, as in model rocketry) and are preparing for its maiden launch this weekend. The rocket includes collapsing wings (which are open during takeoff, and collapse for landing), and a rotating radio-controlled R2-D2 head (complete with sound). The launch takes place this weekend (10/6/2007) at the Plaster Blaster rocketry event in Plaster City, CA. This year, the event will be Star Wars themed, and there will be hundreds of themed and non-themed rockets. /Chris |
